Research Interest

Dr. Kobashigawa is Clinical Professor of Medicine in the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the Medical Director of the Heart Transplant Program.

Dr. Kobashigawa is recognized internationally as a leader in the heart transplant field. He has served as the past Chairman of the American College of Cardiology Committee on Heart Failure and Transplantation, and as the past president of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation.

Dr. Kobashigawa’s interests include: Statins, intravascular ultrasound, newer immunosuppression clinical trials, and exercise physiology of the denervated donor heart in heart transplant patients.
